Great video EB. I probably should have done that instead of messing around with my little system.

I reckon my mum (whose interested in AP) could do that by herself!

Just a question about the stand pipe, why no autosiphon? how do you get the water to drain below the height of the SP? Or doesn't that matter?

Excellent video!

I'm going to be getting myself an IBC :D

Couple of quick questions
1) weather proofing - I thought IBC's weren't UV stable, didn't notice any mention of that in this.
2) silencing - is there anyway to quieten the noise as it drains ? If you are doing this on a suburban block chances are the neighbours will complain about the noise (I know mine are!) And doing it AFTER it's set up might be more difficult.

So going looking for parts... Hmm, think I'm due to cash in some reward points....

Oh maaan.....

Damn it...

They will just have to stay there its mention at the start about wearing protective gear, and some video/pics have the gloved on.. You really need to be on the ball with this stuff..

You ask "Why no siphon?", I ask "Why a siphon?"..

I've just never liked them much, can stop working when you don't want them too.. We will be running this constantly flooded, see how it goes, the other systems we are running constantly flooded are working very well...

We talk about weather proofing in the manual we aren't worrying with this one, we'll see how long it lasts.. I have IBC's that have bees sitting out the back of my place for the past 5-6 years with no protection and they are ok, might be getting a bit brittle, but they are still full of water. The covering or painting is up to individuals...

Silencing is very simple, if you have a look at the video at about 14.10 almost midway, a 50mm pipe will fit into the fitting in the base of the bed, then it can go right down into the water.. Very easy to add afterwards..

If there's anyone that wanted to have a look at this early draft to make comment, and I have missed you, please let me know... We have already made some changes because of comments, it's now single page layout instead of dual page spread..

I'd be interested, but I'm more used to proof reading software and security documentation. So probably won't be able to offer much. Can offer a newbie point of view....

I noticed the dog as well. It looks exactly like one of our dogs

Is it a Hauntaway?

Just a suggestion with the video - what about speeding it up where the repetition occurs - like web4dev does with his videos?
