this is the internal section that makes the water change direction and the solids drop to the bottom or the drum

Hi,

Thanks for showing how you did your radial filter.

How do you get the solids out of the filter?

Have you got a bottom drain for it?

Cheers,

Mon

Edit: Ignore my question. Just seen the tap at the bottom of the container.

How did you manage to get the nice flared section on the PVC? and what level compared to water level is the through support pipe? :) (I may be able to use this as I have a lot of floaties)

Nice build Brett & Vicky.. Think I might need to go to a larger drum as well... What size pump are you running the system with?

but im think someone will tell us how is done
and the outlet is not glued so i can swivel it around it has about 25mm or 1 inch below the support pipe

we are running a 7500l per hour pump into 25mm pipe and 19mm black pipe to the grow beds it works fine and now the radial filter lots of flow

Nice work. Kinda similar to mine except I used uniseals through the drum.

I used Uniseals, as well, but the main difference to mine is the orientation of the internal water cone. I installed mine inverted, reasoning that a wider base would produce the best settling of solids, but now I am wondering who has got it right? Maybe it doesn't matter but, then again, maybe it is critical.

What is your thinking on this, Brett&Vicky?
