Has anyone tried using a swimming pool with the sand filter for bio filter?

Hi Chris, see no-one answered this.

Try the search as it does pop up a bit but mostly is not typical of AP setups.

I tried the search first, read a lot of theory but not where anyone had tried it. I'll keep looking. Thanks

I have seen it used. They took out the sand and filled with bio balls.

Bio balls were expensive last time I checked, sand is a lot more economical. If it works.

Filter sand is a lot more expensive than normal washed sand.
