Water proofing timber, is pond liner the only option? asked a couple guys at bunnings and they said timber was too porous for use with the paint on water proofing/sealing. Read else where that fibreglass would crack too much and would leak? Was looking for an alternative to pond liner, since it doesn't fit well in boxes that are holding water and collects detritus in its folds.

I've often found bunnings people to not have much specific knowledge, maybe try a pond shop, I would think there are products you could paint onto wood, though personally I'd rather go for a liner.
