If your located in a country other than Australia and would like to possibly speak with others in your area, please reply to this, and give people an idea of where you are (no exact details) and whether or not you have an aquaponic system. :)

Hi all in the USA. I live in Florida. My system is going with 1 500 gal. tank full of Tilapia, 2 20 gal tanks for fry, and 1 150 gal tank for fingerlings. The growbeds are set up and ready to plant. I also am working on making a water garden in the back yard for beauty and a peaceful setting that also includes spots for more fish.

Located in the USA in the state of Tennessee. I don't have an aquaponics system yet but I am working on plans to build a small system in the basement.
I'm hoping to grow Blue Tilapia. If I can't get a hold of the Tilapia then I'll grow Bluegill. I haven't decided on what plants yet. Maybe some lettuce, maybe some rosemary. Someday I would like to try and grow watermelon.

Hi, I'm in PA, and have a 100 gallon system in the back yard with about two dozen goldfish and one algae eater. I have a good amount of mesclun mix growing, some basil, cherry tomatoes (just plants and flowers no fruit yet), and sundry other things. I am fiddling with auto siphons at the moment, and designing the basement system for the Winter.

Hi,
I am from India, New Delhi. I started with barrelponics 55 gallon system. Modified it to a 700 litre fish tank, then added some NFT based plants. and an auto-siphon.

I am experimenting with Indian carp , flowers, cucumbers and tomatoes.

Hi everyone, I am located in California and have a 800 gallon system stocked with Tilapia currently growing butter lettuce and Basil. The system is under Poly Carbonate and uses the flood and drain concept introduced by the late Tom Spareneo at S&S. I am very interested in conversing with the folks who are having success and flirting with light commercial applications or greenhouse production.

Feel free to email at "michael_ferrrini@yahoo.com"

Pics of system forthcoming.

Regards,
Mike

Hello All, I'm in Northwestern Iowa, USA. Currently setting up a system inside a kit green house, 8ft by 20ft. Have a 300 gallon tank buried in the ground and hoping to have yellow perch as my fish. I have two small systems set up in the house with just guppies and strawberries, a 10 gallon tank with one grow bed and a 30 gallon tank with two growbeds, not having much luck the the strawberries as not alot of sunlight for them, but the fish are doing well. Hoping to make this all into a business for local market but taking it slow.

Hello All -

I'm in sweltering Houston, Texas. I have a 750 gallon tank with 50 bluegill perch which are feeding a 7' X 4' growing bed for lettuce. Tank is buried and keeps water temp near 80 degrees F, which also helps with keeping lettuce from wilting in the high heat. System has been running all summer, and nothing to report other than I had to put some plexi above the lettuce to prevent rain damage on tender leaves. Fish are appx 5 inches now, from the 1 inch I started with. On second lettuce crop.

Have been feeding with worms from compost heap, maggots, bread scraps, and insects gathered in numbers I can catch easily. Going to put in intermediate tank to raise food fish next weekend now that bluegill are big enough.

New additional tank going in this winter - mixed catfish/perch - 1200 gallons - and retooling for 12V solar power to the air and water pumps...and all this is in the small space behind my garage.

Anyone with questions feel free to email me - been doing this for over 30 years...

Hi,

I'm in Sandton, Gauteng Province, South Africa.

Don't have a functioning system yet, still constructing it. Plan on stocking a 1000 litre tank with tilapia and catfish and growing various leafy greens and hopefully some chili bushes in towers

Pics of my limited progress to date are at http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum ... d17cf92b64
