Thought we probably need a new sticked thread about some of the new websites popping up around the place.

Here we will compile a list of websites that forum members find around the internet which could possibly be considered dubious in the information or services they provide . People obviously just trying to jump on the bandwagon, trying to make a dollar with little to no experience.

The purpose of this thread is not to denigrate newcomers, new websites or new aquaponics businesses, it's to find the aquashysters (as Rebecca from aquaponics.com puts it) and let people know about them for the good of aquaponics worldwide.

People are easily put off when they receive poor information, products and services and no one wants to see aquaponics go the way of pyramid schemes, shams and scams.

http://www. aquaponicsearth.com ????
A marketing person, an aerospace engineer, and a guy who is supposed to have built aquaponic systems around the world but I can't find any info about him anywhere. :dontknow:

Seems a bit scammy to me, trying to save the world with aquaponics? Trademarking the word "Animalponics"?

An old favourite.... Tried to pass himself off as a 70 year old woman that runs a gardening blog.. Used multiple pictures that weren't his without permission, on multiple web sites. Down-loadable "ultimate home aquaponics guide" is rather poor has extremely basic info on how to build the most basic of systems. Very over hyped....

Owner also sells a number of other e-books.

Something seems real familiar about these "guys"... especially L. Oliver Duffy....

Ahh.... yes... here we go... they're the spiritual healers and sacred desert rock bling and health tonic space-cadets...... out in the Yucca Valley.... Hi-Desert Lighthouse Productions

http://www. hi-desertlighthouse.com/Welcome.html

Good old "gracie" even calls herself a "cybernaut"

And good old "Oliver" is definitey a "spacecadet".... "studied electrical engineering in Southern California; and then spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, mostly on the island of Okinawa. That was before it was part of Japan and during the transition. "

It's where he met "Chuck".... his spiritual guide... began lucid dreaming ... and "found himself questioning his own sanity" ....

http://www. hi-desertlighthouse.com/Blog/Entries/2008/1/17_Meet_L._Oliver_Duffy%2C_Coyote_Man.html

P.S ... Grace is his partner....

http://www. hi-desertlighthouse.com/Blog/Entries/2007/9/23_Grace_Page_2.html

Bet they've never built am AP system in their lives, let alone a bloody spaceship... and reckon the banner photo was pinched without authorisation as well...

These people should be exposed!!!!!

Bet he's got a collection to alfoil hats... and has booked his passage on the mothership...

LOL, hum using animal wastes (manure!) Treated in some way to make it safe (composting!) LOL as if this is something new!!! Mixing it with water to use on the plants (manure or compost tea!!!!) Sigh.

Never mind, they are not trying to save the world, just make a buck by trade marking names and registering URL's.

Of course Medicinal Pot is legal in the Western States of the USA now with proper scripts and certifications, I'm sure an Aquaponic greenhouse would be a handy way to grow it.

Animalponics. Bit like Microponics.
No working systems.
Misleading marketing.
Re-packaging of existing methods.
Motivated by money.

Knew I'd seen Oliver & Grace somewhere before.... perhaps they've had a name change... perhaps they're just doing the old multiple sites/blogs bullshit self-promotion stuff...

This was their first promotion... raise the flag... thump the tub...

A plant takes as long to grow as the spicies needs
All the work... oh yeh the fish plant the seeds, shit on them an harvest them as well all in 10 minutes.
Geez I hate spin doctors... would be better if they put all that BS to good use.. in the bog where it belongs to make methane.

isnt hd farm akin to feed lots for cattle and battery cages for chooks??

and the industrial digester looks alot like an onsite sewerage treatment plant now quite common in new developments.

as previous stated on this thread.... composting, permaculture, aquaponics and current farming "solutions" all repackaged and sold as a new idea....
