Also where did you buy it from?

Looks like just what I need for my tank.

They have a shop in St Albans...around the corner from me, so paid 172 for the lot after a 20% discount I was able to twist their arm for.

Would assume you could twist them also for a discount.

Love these airstones as you can take them apart and clean them...first thing I did when I got them was to split them and reattach the colours according to my ODC :D

Well, looks like it is the start of the end for this system.

Over the last year, its been fun and today there is minimal tinkering I need to do to this.

Its been a learning experience to say the least. Although I have not had any true HSM, I have had some problems which were compounded as this system is at my parents and I could not get there all the time and normally cannot commit too much time for its upkeep. The result is a system that works, but fishgrowth is minimal due to not being able to feed optimually.

Over the next few months, I will be cannibalising this system for the new one I will build at my house. Probably wont be until the October, but wont be adding to this system from now.

My PondOne O2 8000 pump packed it in again.

This time it wasnt the diaphragm. Dont know what it is. Will see how they deal with it.

Might have to go back to el cheapo electromagnetic pumps...at least I can get 3 for the price I paid for 1

I'm still running two of the electromagnetic air pumps I bought nearly three years ago... haven't missed a beat...

And the other big unit that's attached to the trout tank... about 18-24 months old...actually sat outside for about 4 months doing nothing... fired straight back up and hasn't missed a beat since... think that one cost me $60 on special....

Hey VLT. Cool system and I can't wait to see your new one. I was wondering, did you buy the mussels purely for filtration or are they for eating? If so how do they taste?

Wasn't for eating. So cannot tell you how good/bad they taste.

I probably would have liked them given my Asian heritage and love of seafood.
