Wow, thats a great size to start them trout, they will be massive by the end of winter.

You should weigh and measure one or two so you have a comparison at harvest time and so you can be part of the 2012 trout comp.

I have 2 in isolation at the moment.. They were in the bag that was not doing well.. Out of that Bag I had to get rid of 6 dead one..

Once they come out of Isolation[O2 saturation] I'll weigh them and take some photo's of size/weight..

AS I said This is the first lot to get the system cycling and down the track their numbers will be added I want to maximise my numbers over all..

I'm think'n of about 100-120+ fish..

Hi All..

A Quick update..

I got my 2 new Air pump's.. 70lt for 35w.. [Hope the figure are correct] I need to get a "Watt a Meter"..

I'm re rigging the Complete Air system..
I going to have 2 air-pumps running.. and a Second on Standby..
- Powered via a UPS..

Just need to get the UPS running again..

Juergen..

Psst.. the trout I got.. Have had some trouble..
The heat did not help out..
Water temp has dropped to 20..

The Damn rain we had added a lot of rain to my system..
The sump went from its normal levels to about 4" from being Full So I guess it has collected about 4-800lts..

I now have a source of Blue Barrels..

Food grade for about $20.00... Sweet deal and no more than 5min from home... I love it..
I'm trying to see if I can also get IBC's food grade for about $50-60 if I can..

Especially if they are only 5min from home.. Better than $50- for about 1h20min..[one way]

A brief update..

I have lost about 14 of the trout I got.. Not sure if it was the heat or other issue's..

I have to drain about 1000lt of Rain Water from the System.. the system is Running at overfull condition's..
I have to work out a method to capture the excess water and then add it on demand back to the system.. A fun problem to have..

I'll post water conditions Later today..

Juergen

To all who want to know how to make a Sand & Gravel filter I have to make one so I'm going to post Pic's..

I got the polystyrene for my DWC beds from http://www.foamex.com.au/products-expan ... ard-sheets, which is pretty close to you. They custom cut them for you too. I went with the highest grade 50mm thick, as it has more strength, and I thought that it might last longer. They might be able to put the holes in them too if you are inclinded not to do it yourself. A hole saw is easy, but it is messy. The highest grade might be overkill for the purposes though, as it couldn't be called cheap.

FB, don't keep us in suspense! How much was it? Clark Rubber has 600x1200 50mm sheets for $20 each. I almost dropped on the spot, then I realised it was cheaper than hydro and river pebbles.
