got a retractable clothes line now, that clothes line will be covered in shade cloth and the "lines" will be anchor points for climbing plants.

I would be looking for a better reason that that H45e. To my knowledge a slab would be made from concrete/cement and would contain lime which may increase the pH to what point :dontknow: A slab may also have sharp corners and also would probably not sit totally flat, harbouring debris. If you change your mind, it may not be the easiest thing to get out. I personally wouldn't add a slab.
We find that our fish come to the surface for food so we get to see them anyway, we have them trained :D If you want to see colourful fish try some beautiful orange goldfish or koi.

awww, don't they grow up so fast :flower:

Great looking system !
I am a little concerned about FT access, is it too late to drag the FT forwards a bit and push the GBs back a little ? save a lot of issues later...

I love watching them feed, but I have to make sure I dont over feed them (because I love watching them splash)

Have put a lid on the bell siphon so nothing can drop in.

Looks great mate, well done.

Really shows how a little effort and imagination can make a sytem look great.

I wouldnt be super worried about getting fish out either, i think your on the right track with the beer idea. I guess the only trouble will be if you have a problem and dead fish, but with good management that hopefully wont happen.

I also liked the sugestion of a light, may keep it mind for mine even :)

Im only going to get the light basically to "show off" to my mates. Tell them lets go fishing... they ask where and I say my back yard. Already got my old man on that one.

Ive had, goldfish tank/pond, koi pond, and currently since i moved out a marine tank and now aquaponics.. so I think I would be able to take care of some trout (knock on wood).

Got a update

Good news: I can catch the trout with my hands, they all come up to the front like they are trying to say "pick me, pick me".

Bad news: Marron, all dead. Checked everything and all ok, so dont know why.
