Mum has been using that recipe extensively, with the neem leaves and all, with great success.

This is what I'm working on now, sadly no youtuibe in Pakistan so cant upload last years update as promised as yet :[

Its going to be built with blcoks and cement, all tiled white on the insides and mum wants blue patterned tiles ont he outside, fixed pvc drains in all the sections running on Murray Hallams CHOP Mark 2 design. Also going to put in a "tray" type thing under the SLO from the FT to the ST where a fixed gravity baffle filter will sit along with a drain for mum to get the rich fertilizer from there. Maybe a few towers fixed into the wall above the FT as well.

Meeting contractors over the weekend and starting the build Monday Inshallah! Got only up til 17th Feb to get it up and running.

Lastly, I haven;t seen it growing myself as yet, but my buddy who i built the Pakiponics barrel system for also went and had a cemented AP system built in his baclony about 8-9 months ago. I.m told its growing well and currently has a papaya tree happily growing in it. Will get eyes on the fishies and report back :]

Hey guys,

I hope I find you both in good health and spirits.

Just wanted to pick your brains a little, I need to place an order for fiberglass tanks tomorrow morning so they get done in time for.me to set them up before leaving.

My grow bed is planned to be a tub .3 m deep, .8 m wide and 2.8 m long. I'm going to use a bell si phone with a 2 in pipe but I'm concerned the bed may be too big for the sip hon and it will take excessively long to drain. Will be a chop 2 type system like the picture I put up in my system thread.

Am on a bit of a clock, so would love to hear your thoughts on the grow bed size soon

thinking will probably have them put in a partition though and make it into two beds.

Hi Abdul,
My GB is 2m x 1m x .3m so in volume size only slightly smaller than the tanks you are making.

Mine don't take that long to drain. I think you will be fine.

From memory I think they take less than 5 minutes to drain.

If you are going for a siphon check out my thread below on Affnan siphons, much more reliable and can be made from 2 plastic bottles. Very cheap to make!

If you need help or another video on how to make them just let me know.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I have placed the order. An advance payment has been made. A 2.8m by 0.8m by 0.3 m GB, a sump of the same size, a 0.7m high table made with 1.5" 14 gauge pipe and I channels with a marine ply top, a 0.45m by 0.62m by 0.92 m small tub with a partition in the middle to serve as a settling/filter tank and a 1m by 1m by 1m tank to serve as a FT will be delivered to my house on the 12th of February Inshallah.

This will give me till 9 pm on the 17th of February to complete the system startup/transfer from the bathtub system.

Will have overflows and all the piping put in at the fabrication yard so will just need to connect the pipes, which i plan to pre-fabricate before the tubs arrive, run two pumps as I think the one i have won't be able to handle the CHOP 2 config flow rate, run an air pump all over the place and fill it with the river rock. Not planning on washing it, will let the GB do that for me.

Hopefully by the sun sets on the 13th of February I should have everything set up and flowing. The five gold fish, one sucker and six tilapia, three males and three females, should be very happy in their 1000 litres or so and will breed a few more tilapia. I'm planning a dwarf papaya tree, water melon vines, oregano, tomatoes (Got a tomato plant in the GB right now that grew from a seed mom tossed in and it's EXPLODING not growing), sweet corn in the summer, red chilli, cabbage and maybe some thai basil. Going to set up a DWC bed in the ST too so should get some lettuce, mint and oregano in there too along with some hanging arrangement under the GB for orchids.

Think it will cost me about 1000 US dollars in total, damn river rocks are horribly pricey. Nice thing to build for me moms though, as long as i put it together properly all she should need to do is feed the fish, should say though she has become quite the aquaponicer in her own right over the past two years caring for the bathtub system, considering she got a two kilo melon out of it I'd say quite an aquaponicer indeed! Not having any luck with her cabbage though, it won't form the ball in the middle, it keeps opening, huge plants and leaves though. Best i could figure was the nitrates being too high. The bigger GB should fix that problem for here though >:D

I will document the whole process but don't know when I'll be able to actually upload it all. I still haven't sat down and put together all of the videos/pictures from the last two years, which included the harvest, slaughter and baking of the two tilapia last year. It will happen however, sooner or later, so watch this space for upcoming AP madness!

That's one productive bath system.

I have almost given up on cabbages, have the same problem in both the AP system and dirt garden. Just can not get then to heart up.
They look nice but when I cut them open there is bugger all in there.
