Guess you could be right.

I got 2 more barrels these and the one from yesterday all came from a place that makes BBQ sauce. They smell amazing. These where clean as is, they had a liner in them with the BBQ flavoring like a brown sugar or hickory smell. It's a lot better smelling than the 2 year old dog food flavoring that was in the IBC totes.

Might have to leave one open in the house for a few days. :)

Just marinate the meat for your next BBQ in there before adding them to your system :laughing3: :laughing3:

I get my uniseals (and my pumps, and my air compressors, and my air stones, and and and) from Aquatic Ecosystems, in Florida (which apparently has merged with Pentair, grrrr... :dontknow: ) (link to 2" seals)

When I need to buy things like test kits, I get them from DrsFosterandSmith, because they're in Wisconsin, and therefore (somewhat) local. I rarely see the Master Test Kits available for cheaper than these guys sell them.

I have a few ideas on this so far. Fish tank will stay where it is now between the AC unit and the basement window. For power I will run wires for the outlet through the joist to the outside wall. Anything electrical can be kept in basement and not outside exposed (air pump, back up electronics) Fish tank will be raised on pier blocks and framed for fishtank and outside covering of fish tank. I may just borrow the rental truck from Home Depot or Lowe's so I don't have to wait on parents truck. If not I have to wait another 3 weeks till they are back in town.

Sketch Up is making me so mad. CPU load is at 7% and RAM at 40% and just feel slow as hell to work in.

Anyway here is a update using Sketch Up. Growbeds will probably still move away from fish tank by another 5-10 ft.

I never told neighbors what I have ween working on. I have mostly been moving things to the back yard and tinkering and they finally ask what I was working on. Out of what I explained to them I think the only part the understood was fish tank and plants everything more with the aquaponic lingo I could tell that they did not understand.

I'm collecting rain water in the growbeds and the open head barrels. Yesterday gave me about 4 inches to add to the fish tank.

Things are starting to grow...well go stagnant.

How far down from the top do you put your bulkheads or uniseals? A few CM down after the curve of the edges?

I'm thinking about getting a SLO RFF and sump going just to get the plant debris and other crap out of the fish tank that is starting to blow into it.

OK its about 21:00 here and I'm just crazy enough to go shopping for wood for stand and top cover frame.

Looking at (4)8ft 2x4 cut in half and (3)8ft 2x6 cut in half and 4 pier blocks.

All I have done so far. Drill batteries are dead now but only after 8 screws. I need to get another board. Just along the front would look nicer with a longer board. 48" was my longest cut I needed and will fit in my car fine. The new board is just more of a after thought and not a miss cut.

As you will have a tee at the top of your slo as a back up overflow, the top of the tee needs to be lower than the top of your ft.

Ok finished the top frame. Started on the bottom, but light was starting to be the issue. Might work on it inside only need to just screw the joist in.

Only the bottom frame for the fish tank is treated lumber. Cedar was $8.50 a board for 2x4s and $14.75 for 2x6s the treaded 2x6s are $6.85. I will see how the fir boards do on the top frame in the months to come. It will get a lid eventually.
