Hi guys

I have finally got my setup all sorted, the bell siphons are working perfectly thanks to a bunch of members here who were very helpful with their advice. I've planted some greens in there to help with nitrogen control, my primary goal this season is to grow 4 chilli plants in aquaponics (2 per bed) and 4 identical chilli plants in growbags in the same greenhouse, and then do a comparison i.e. size of plants, amount of pods, pod flavour, size, etc.

I'm using 50L of clayballs at the bottom of both beds and about 50L of riverstones on top, the pump is 600Lph which seems to do a decent job, I'm checking 5 water parameters: pH, NO2, NO3, KH and GH. Everything is close to target except pH started rising in the last week and is currently at 7.5, I want to keep it at about 6.5 so will be reading through this forum tonight on how to safely and slowly drop pH without freaking my crayfish out.

The crayfish are NZ native koura (purchased legally ofcourse from http://www.clearwatercrayfish.co.nz/.

I've had trouble with capsicums and chilies in AP - I would recommend looking into what nutrients they need and using some supplements to help if you get deficiencies. Others have had great success.

I'll read up on fish-safe nutrients. Thanks!

The greenhouse is heated/insulated and has hps lights to extend daylight hours. I worked out it was a phosphate issue, got it sorted now.

I had the same problems with capsicums and chillies as Jayendra and it wasn't until my system had matured that I managed to have any success.
