32mm, total rain fall. That will make an impact and will put a damper on the fires. :D

That was 1/4 of the annual moisture for 2018.

even after 30 years, I still get a kick out of it. 36 hours ago there was not one green piece of grass out there.
Just brown.
Now the grass just shoots up, as if somebody flipped a switch.
I leave the horses for to night and than close all the pastures for a week, to get the max out of the moisture.

I feel very lucky, the pastures will probably survive. 40 acres is a lot of plowing and the cost of seed, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Did ya tell your horse to slow down a second and look at what he/she is eating? :funny:

Well, yesterday I thought I had some sort of prehistoric mammal that decided to come swim in my old duck pond. Turns out, they were mating frogs and it is now filled with eggs.

Had never seen in years past. Also answers the question of why the ducks would spend so much time with their heads under water rooting through all the rocks after such an event in years past. .

Hopefully, this is an early start to the July monsoons.

Forecast for a start of the Monsoon season, is first week of July.

Bring it on, the more the better.

They think 416 and Burro will join, they are just 5 miles apart.

Yesterday I drilled some fence post holes. I was surprised to find out, that there is actual some moisture in the ground, all the way, 3 feet deep.

Naturally we are back to the extreme fire danger. 3. day in arrow with Red Flag and Burro and 416 are alive again.

But this gives hope :

To say that the fires are alive is a minor understatement

It looks as if the monsoon has arrived. NOAA and ACCU forecast are in agreement.
We had a good hard rain yesterday early evening, 8mm and prediction is the same for at least a week.
Need to get used again to some humidity :D

Yes, except for yesterday it has rained every late afternoon. Since it started 23mm and the forecast shows more for at least an other week.

I am running the tub without the fish and use a juice from the Hydroponics store.
