Finnished moving back in December and decided to build my dream system. A 600 gallon split flow. I was going to do a solids settle between the fish tanks and sump.

While doing my research on types i learned that a 50 gallon drum solids settle was too small. Not enough dwell time. Then i had another idea. With my split flow, the ammonia would never be fully converted. Since the fish waste goes straight to the sump. It will only be constantly diluted. Figured it would be better to ponder these what if situation now before i add fish at the end of the month.

I am think maybe a 50 gallon radial flow settle instead and maybe a 15 gallon trash can moving bio reactor. Thoughts or opinions would be apreciate.

If you are stuck for size you can always double up and put two filters in parallel (split the incoming water between them both) which will halve the flow rate through each doubling the dwell time.

In saying that though I did run two radial flow settlers in that config for a while but found that the one was fine for my 1000L (IBC) worth of fish tank.

Yeah if you build it as a radial flow settler you should be good. Since you are using media beds a MBBR would be optional but if you are like me you can do it just for fun or if you plan on shutting the beds down during the cold part of the year (which in FL maybe not.) Depending on the price of drums in your area and space you could do a 35 or 50 gallon one too, you don't have to fill it up all the way with media and gives you room to grow later.
